For our first Photos of the Week page, Matthew Bennett sent us some photos of his custom TR3. He wrote:

“Thought you might get a kick out of some pics from a local British car show I attended with my TR3. My father purchased a flatbed truck of Triumph TR3 parts in 1983. There were roughly two to three Triumphs in parts in the pile. My father and I have been slowly identifying, cleaning, and assembling them over the years into the roadster you now see. The running joke is that it is a TR3 1958, with some ‘59, a bit of ‘57, and a few other years thrown in there just for flavor. The “holiday boot” was a fun side project I did as well as painting a “Britannia Style Pinup” logo on the back of my jacket.

Cheers!
Matthew Bennett”

I replied to Matthew and let him know how much I enjoyed his photos and the jacket art. His “holiday boot” looks like he is ready for a British tailgate party done in style! From his photos I think you can see that he has custom fittings in his boot, which include a combination of tools, party supplies, umbrella, and binoculars. I had a question for Matthew about one of the items because I was not sure what it was. He told me that the item above the umbrella was a “British Polo Seat Cane” or sometimes called a “Hunting Cane or Stick”. It is a cane with a handle that opens up to a hammock style leather seat. I don’t know about you, but I think Matthew might be starting a trend here with his holiday boot!
